India, India: Aam Aadmi Party wins elections with high voter turnout, reports Bangla News article New Delhi: India’s ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has won the general elections with a high voter participation and voter turnout record.
A total of 1.39 crore voters cast their ballots for the 2019 Lok Sabha elections.
This was a higher turnout than the 2.5 crore people who participated in the last election, held in 2017.
In the 2017 elections, the BJP won 49.8 per cent of the vote, and the party won 39 per cent, or about 1.7 crore votes.
The party has won seats in 16 states and the Union Territories.
